Jawwad Shekha is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP). He is one of the founding partners of Moore Shekha Mufti and the team leader for Audit, Accounting & Corporate Advisory services. Previously, he worked for nine years with Ernst & Young Pakistan.
In Audit, Jawwad possess a wide experience in manufacturing and service sectors including that of internal audits outsourced by quoted companies. He has been part of due diligence and valuation teams for transactions in media, pharmaceutical, energy and telecom sectors. Along with audit, Jawwad remains involved in capacity building of small and medium sized entities. Few of such entities ultimately outsource their accounting function to the firm.
Jawwad, over the years, has done significant work in the Not for Profit Sector (NPO). On behalf of the International Institutions & Donor Assurance division of the UK office of Moore Global, he regularly carries out reviews of local and International NPOs funded by global donors like European Commission and United Nations. He was engaged on a USAID project, as a lead consultant on Financial Management where his role was to develop Financial Management Standards and train some of the leading NPO’s of Pakistan on their adoption. This was followed by capacity assessment and implementation support.
Jawwad is also very actively engaged in various spheres of corporate law practice. His work revolves around formation of local and foreign owned entities, advising on various corporate matters and providing support in corporate compliances. He has also worked extensively on Corporate Governance and is a faculty member at Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance. His published work includes a Comparative Study on South Asian Corporate Governance Codes, published by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, a Guide on Governance in Family Owned Businesses and Case Studies on Business Families in Pakistan; both published by the Centre for International Private Enterprise.
